CAEC COUNCIL
As approved by the Council at its regular meeting on
November 24, 1981, and revised on April 26, 1990 and September 24, 1998.
- A project to be considered must fall clearly within
the Mission and Purpose of the Consortium.
- A project must be open to all members of the Consortium.
- A project must demonstrate potential for broad appeal
to member institutions and their faculty, staff and students.
- Project proposals, including those initiated by outside
agencies, must be sponsored by a member Institution(s) and demonstrate
the involvement of member faculty, staff and/or students in the planning
and implementation of the project.
- Any project must demonstrate careful planning, including
a plan for publicizing and promoting the program to member institutions
and the community.
- Any project proposal must demonstrate sponsoring institutions
support to insure that the CAEC request is supplemental, i.e., the CAEC
portion may not exceed 50% of the total cost of the project.
- At typical level of CAEC support is $500 for a project,
and in no case can it exceed $2000.
- Typically, no more than one payment per institution
(as fiscal agent for the project) per year would be made. An institution,
however, may be involved in planning and implementation of more than
one such project per year.
- The recipient institution shall present a written
financial report and evaluation of the project wit a brief description
of the project activities within 60 days following its completion.
- Payment shall be made by the CAEC Treasurer to the
fiscal agent named in the proposal upon authorization of the Executive
Committee of CAEC Council.
- Any unexpended funds remaining from such allocation
must be returned to CAEC.
- Requests for CAEC funds should be submitted in writing
six months prior to the activity in order to allow for their consideration
by the CAEC Council before the activity. In the case of short notice
opportunities, requests may be considered if they are submitted in writing
to the CAEC Chair for action by the CAEC Executive Committee when waiting
of the next CAEC Council meeting would prohibit timely action on the
request.
