We strive to bridge gaps in learning and workforce access across Colorado for adult learners.

Integrated Education and Training (IET) Pre-Apprenticeship Program.

Colorado Adult Education Coalition is proud to announce the launch of its Integrated Education and Training (IET) 8-week program construction career pathways.

This initiative is designed to connect High School Equivalency (HSE), General Education (GED) and English as a Second Language (ESL) learners to workforce training, apprenticeship opportunities, and careers in the skilled trades through integrated academic support, workforce preparation, and technical training.

The program includes:

  • GED Tutoring

  • Safety training

  • Material handling

  • Construction math

  • Hand and power tools

  • Construction drawings and blueprint reading

  • Workforce readiness and employability skills

  • Jobsite readiness and communication skills

  • OSHA 10 preparation and test

  • First Aid/CPR preparation and test

Participants may transition into:

  • Industrial positions

  • Worker, helper, and laborer positions

  • Registered apprenticeship pathways

At the end of this program students will leave with a Integrated Education and Training Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion, OSHA 10 certificate, First aid/CPR certificate, and GED (based on individual progress).CAEC welcomes collaboration with employers, unions, workforce organizations, and community partners across Colorado.

Sector Connector Network Group

Sector Connector Network Group is a monthly online convening for adult education providers, workforce partners, and employers to strengthen sector partnerships and align education-to-employment pathways across Colorado.

Participants collaborate to share practices and coordinate strategies that support adult learners moving into training, college, apprenticeships, and employment.

Topics may include:

  • Industry-aligned instruction (foundational, digital, communication, and AI skills)

  • Contextualized learning and career-focused curriculum

  • Assessment and individualized learning plans

  • Career navigation and transition support to training, college, apprenticeships, and jobs

  • Work-based learning opportunities

  • Coordinated support services for adult learners

  • Employer engagement and sector partnerships

  • Leadership skill development

Meeting Schedule:
The group meets online the third Friday of each month (may vary) from 10:00–11:00 a.m. to share updates, build connections, and strengthen workforce-aligned adult education across Colorado.

Ambassadors in Action

Ambassadors in Action is a statewide network of volunteer champions working to strengthen adult education across Colorado. The initiative connects educators, workforce partners, and community advocates who support adult learners and expand awareness of education-to-career pathways.

Ambassadors contribute by:

  • Building partnerships with local adult education programs, workforce centers, community organizations, and employers

  • Sharing adult learner stories and highlighting program impact

  • Supporting outreach and community events

  • Promoting awareness of adult education and career pathways

  • Engaging stakeholders to strengthen statewide collaboration

Through these activities, Ambassadors develop leadership skills in communication, facilitation, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement while helping elevate the voice of adult learners and expand access to education and career opportunities across Colorado.

Flood the State

Flood the State is a coordinated outreach and advocacy initiative that strengthens relationships with Colorado legislators and elevates priorities connected to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The campaign equips adult educators, workforce partners, and community advocates with clear messages, local data, and adult learner stories to share with elected officials across the state.

Participants may engage in:

  • Meetings with state legislators

  • Testimony and policy discussions

  • Participation in district and community events

  • Sharing local program outcomes and workforce data

  • Highlighting adult learner success stories

These activities help raise awareness of policy and funding priorities that expand access to Adult Basic Education, Integrated Education and Training (IET), and workforce pathways for Colorado adults.

Meet Your State Advocate

Bridging the Digital Divide- Digital Inclusion Week

Digital Inclusion Week is a community-focused initiative led by the Colorado Adult Education Coalition (CAEC) that highlights the importance of ensuring all adults have access to the technology, internet connectivity, and digital skills needed to fully participate in modern education, work, and civic life.

Throughout the week, CAEC brings together adult education providers, libraries, workforce centers, community organizations, and employers to promote digital equity and share strategies that help close the digital divide across Colorado.

Activities may include:

  • Digital skills workshops for adult learners

  • Presentations on responsible AI and emerging technology

  • Panels with educators, workforce partners, and employers

  • Resource sharing for affordable internet and device access

  • Community discussions on digital literacy and workforce readiness
     

Digital Inclusion Week emphasizes that digital access is essential for education, career pathways, and lifelong learning. By building partnerships and expanding digital literacy opportunities, CAEC supports adult learners in gaining the tools and confidence needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
